Two Must Read books by Mary Stewart Relfe
Hey everybody, I want to tell you a story. It was back around 1980. My grandparents Bryan and Wedis Webber were pastoring a Church called the Southside Church of God off of Old Jonesboro road in Atlanta, Georgia.
They pastored there about 7 years and then in 1980 they were tapped by the Church of God out of Cleveland, Tennessee to serve as the General Overseers for Trinidad and Tobago and the Island of Grenada.
I remember around that time my grandmother, Wedis Webber, had a book by Mary Stewart Relfe called “When your Money Fails”.
Mary was a christian business woman and pilot from Texas and was one of the first to come out with a cutting edge book on the coming Mark of The Beast System and update people on the formation of the European Common Market, The “Beast” computer in Brussels Belgium and sound the alarm to the christian church about how close we were moving to the Tribulation period.
She followed up that book with a sequel and if you want these books they are no longer in print but you can still find some copies circulating. Being overseas I have been searching a long time for a PDF copy and today I hit pay dirt and found pristine copies of both of them on archive.org which I will share links to.
Fast forward to early 1982 I had moved up with my mother and brother Damon to Alexandria, Virginia where my grandparents were now pastoring a Church at 2912 King Street in Alexandria, VA. called the King Street Church of God. They had only been able to stay in Trinidad for a year before having to return to the States early as my grandmother had become photo sensitive to the sun as the result of some thyroid medication she was taking at the time.
I was now in 7th grade and going to Hayfield Elementary in Springfield, VA. and remember taking a copy of the book to school with me when I was caught reading it in a Social Studies class.
My teacher sawme reading this book and came over to my desk and snatched it out of my hand thinking he had caught me reading a comic book or something but glancing at the cover and title he became puzzled and then concluded it was some sort of financial book on the Stock Market!
He handed it back to me and from then on he called me“Wall Street”!
The endtimes and the coming mark of the beast and tribulation were always subjects I remember being discussed in the home back in the 70’s and 80’s and I am thankful today for the upbringing I have had which has prepared me for the endtime watchmen I am today.
